Job Purpose
To collect and deliver customers' orders in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner using company vehicle.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Fixed Term Contract.

To collect and deliver customers' orders in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner using company vehicle.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Transports stock items in a professional manner while complying with vehicle safety requirements.
- Assures vehicles are clean and in working order.
- Communicates with warehouse staff to receive relevant data and instructions.
- Inspects vehicle prior to daily vehicle usage for safe materials transportation.
- To liaise with the Company’s Vehicle Maintenance Workshop to ensure vehicle is in a roadworthy condition prior to commencement of trip.
- Daily liaise with supervisor to obtain loading plans for collection and delivery of customers’ products.
- Perform daily vehicle pre-trip checks prior of leaving the depot/warehouse, record findings in appropriate register and submit such checklist to Workshop Manager and Supervisor.
- Report any defects immediately to Workshop Manager and Supervisor.
- Immediately report any delays to supervisor and Customer Service Manager.
- Report accidents and incidents immediately following guidelines of the incident reporting procedure.
- Ensure that all paperwork is signed and returned to supervisor after each trip.
- Responsible to ensure that the loading and off-loading of trailer/s is done correctly and safety.
- Ensure adherence of all Company Procedures and Policies, e.g., Safety, Quality, Environment, Drug & Alcohol, Smoking, Seat Belt Policies, etc.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Perform any other task related issue to your position as driver as instructed by your supervisor.
- Form Four Secondary Certificate
- Driving Certificate from NIT or VETA
- Class C or E Driving License
- Minimum 5 years of heavy vehicle driving experience in Public Roads
- A clean Police Clearance Report
- Age limit: At least 45Yrs
- Fire Fighting training will be an added advantage
- First Aid Training will be an added advantage
- General Mechanical Knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Report writing skills.
- Ability to use smart phone/electronic gadget i.e. TMS scanner
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
