Job Purpose
The successful candidate Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of boiler feed water systems and water treatment infrastructure, including potable water, effluent plants, and cooling towers, while maintaining water quality & standards, protecting boiler assets, and ensuring environmental compliance.

The successful candidate Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of boiler feed water systems and water treatment infrastructure, including potable water, effluent plants, and cooling towers, while maintaining water quality & standards, protecting boiler assets, and ensuring environmental compliance.
Specific Duties and Accountabilities:
- Supporting Water treatment plant (WTP) and Effluent treatment Plant (ETP) operators during critical events, training, and ensuring operations are as per SOP.
- Ensure routine sampling and analysis of feedwater, boiler water, and steam are complied.
- Maintenance support for critical equipment and parts, ie, Replacement of RO membrane, maintenance of Demi water system, replacement and adjustment of dosing pumps.
- Together with the maintenance foreman, Section planners ensure critical spares are addressed and always available.
- Compliance with BS EN 12952-12:2003 Standards for boiler water requirements.
- Ensure all lab log sheets for water plant, boiler, and effluent are updated and analyzed, and champion to solve deviations together with responsible stakeholders.
- Preventive maintenance of dosing systems and sampling lines.
- Real-time monitoring of water parameters.
- Rapid response to alarms and excursions.
- Monitor effluent quality (COD, BOD, pH, TSS) and advise appropriate chemical and quantity to be applied.
- Ensure proper operation of disinfection systems.
- Maintain compliance with Tanzanian environmental regulations.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of sensors and transmitters for water systems are complied.
- Coordination with SCADA/DCS systems.
- Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent
- Experience in sugar factory operations with proven skills in Laboratory analysis, WTP & ETP operations, and boiler operations.
- 1 year of experience/Basic skills in water tube boiler operations.
