The sucessfull candidate will be resposnible to manage packing shift team to ensure production parameter standards are met in a safe and efficient manner, Also to Plan and supervise the daily work and performance of each employee on assigned shift, organize schedules, and assign work activity to achieve team and company objectives safely.

- Plan and supervise the daily work and performance of each employee on assigned shift, organize schedules, and assign work activity to achieve team and company objectives safely
- Together with the teams, achieve shift, daily, weekly, monthly performance targets for respective area by ensuring that tasks are prioritized and planned in a logical, systematic and cost-effective way to optimize profitability
- Develop budget for packing department with Factory Head, finance business partner, optimization/ CoE and manage costs effectively
- Monitor performance and support and advise teams in solving problems and/or taking corrective action
- Monitor standards for setting, operating and maintaining equipment and ensure instructions are adhered to. Ensures that all packing masses are accurate and conforms to the allowable mass ranges.
- Identify areas where packing performance and quality management can be improved and manage the implementation of systems and processes to make improvements
- Ensure continuous improvement by implementing functional best practices and conducting physical inspections
- Ensure compliance to minimum operating standards
- Conduct and manage packing material reconcialliation
- Conduct and manage Sugar stocks and reconcialliation
- Ensure technical reporting in compliance with company policy and procedure
- Accurately accounts for sugar production through the packing station
- Manage stock levels to mitigate factory bottlenecks.
- Manage product and packaging material requirements as per S&OP requirements
- Monitor quality performance on packing operations - raising incidents when required for immediate corrective action
- Provide input into best practices, frameworks and minimum standards within function through Head Office platform, and provide additional opportunities for problem identification and knowledge sharing
- Identify and monitor KPIs to track performance and flag any issues
- Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in any related field.
- 3+ years post experience in a heavy industry environment with at least 2 years in the product packing environment in the sugar industry or FMCG equivalent.
- 2+ years supervisory experience.
- Completed necessary training modules for area of responsibility e.g. Packing Station / Foreman Training Programme at the Illovo Technical Academy.
