Job profile 
The successful candidate will be responsible for to maintain, repair, install and calibrate all electrical equipment, electronic and electro–pneumatic instruments and devices, including switchgear, to required standards and accuracy.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
  • Conducts routine maintenance and/or repair and installation of electrical equipment, MCC’s, electronic control, communication and computerised devices.
  • Ensures that electrical equipment and instrumentation are in good working condition.
  • Carries out allocated electronic & electro pneumatic calibration and/or repairing tasks
  • Communicates and inform colleagues and Line Management on the functioning of electrical equipment.
  • Carries out planned maintenance on electrical equipment including troubleshooting and servicing.
  • Reports on the status of the Electrical spares and requirements.
  • Install and commissions instrumentation and electrical projects.
  • Install/Assist to install mechanical and Control instrumentation equipment and pumps.
  • Ensure all processes are executed in local good practices for safety, health, environment and quality. This specifically includes the use of required personal protective equipment and ensuring all tasks are executed with safety in mind.
  • To do maintenance effectively to assure equipment availability.
  • Ensures that all operations are carried out as per the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System at Kilombero Sugar to achieve the quality standards.
  • Performs all tasks according to Kilombero Sugar’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by what you do or do not do.
  • Co-operate with management to enable them to perform their duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Perform all tasks with “awareness” towards the prevention of any forms of pollution to the surrounding and environment.
  • Assist the Production Team Lead under the instruction of the MAINTENANCE FOREMAN E&I, from a control perspective, to ensure that the distillery is operating as per procedure to produce the required alcohol quantity of the desired specification, to the budgeted potable ratio, steam and distillation efficiencies.
  • Assist in solving process problems and deviations by taking the appropriate corrective action to meet production throughput, quality, steam and distillation efficiencies.
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Diploma/FTC in Electrical Engineering/ NTA level 6 in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
  • Extensive knowledge in Electric circuits reading and interpreting, faults tracing and rectification.
  • 3+ years in maintenance of electrical equipment  in a chemical manufacturing facility, preferably a Distillery.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, circuit diagrams, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with wiring, conduit installation, and electrical component replacement
  • Knowledge of Electrical drawing packages such as AutoCAD
  • Ability to work safely in potentially hazardous environment
Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on Permanent Contract.
