Job Purpose
To operate and monitor the bio-methanation (anaerobic digestion) process to convert spent wash into biogas and bio-spent wash safely and efficiently.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure stable, efficient, and safe performance of anaerobic digestion units and associated systems (e.g., feedstock handling, gas scrubbing, and flare systems).
  • Prevent health, safety, and environmental risks by adhering to operating procedures, waste handling standards, and emergency protocols.
  • Support energy recovery goals by maintaining high plant availability and consistent biogas production.
  • Ensure plant operations comply with environmental regulations and internal performance standards for waste reduction, emissions, and energy recovery
  • Act as a key frontline operator ensuring continuity of plant performance across shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Operate the bio methanation plant efficiently to maximize biogas yield and reduce wastage of organic feedstock.
  • Track and minimize consumption of operational chemicals (e.g., pH adjusters, nutrient additives) without compromising process stability.
  • Support the reduction of maintenance costs by promptly reporting abnormal equipment behaviour and assisting with preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure accurate daily logging of production volumes (biogas, digestate), energy output, and feedstock use for financial tracking.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment to avoid fines or losses from safety or compliance breaches.
  • Minimize water losses and leakage during operations through vigilant monitoring and timely corrective actions.         
  • Collaborate effectively with shift team members, maintenance personnel, laboratory technicians, and supervisors to ensure smooth and continuous plant operation.
  • Report unsafe behaviours, hazards, or near-miss incidents promptly to help maintain a strong health and safety culture.
  • Participate actively in safety drills, emergency response training, and continuous improvement meetings.
  • Uphold organizational values by showing respect, accountability, and professionalism in all team interactions.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Diploma/Certificate in waste management, biogas technology, Environmental health and safety or Equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of experience in wastewater treatment, biogas plants, or process plant operations.
  • Understanding of microbial activity involved in biogas production.
Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Permanent Contract.
